To rent space for a private function or to promote a special event, you can contact the City of Henderson Department of Cultural Events and Tourism.

The Henderson Department of Cultural Events and Tourism manages several facilities that can be made available for special events, art exhibits, cultural arts, festivals or private rentals.

Silverman Nevada Triathlon

Mark your calendars so you don’t miss the 5th annual Nevada Silverman Full & Half Distance Triathlon.

This event, which begins at Lake Mead and ends at the Henderson Pavilion, is scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2009.

The Nevada Silverman will again be working with the City of Henderson to make this event spectacular.

The triathlon welcomes participants from 48 states as well as 8 countries.

Participants can register in all classes based on age groups, Silverman solo, Silverwoman, and rely men’s, women’s and mixed.

A registration fee is required for participants entering the event.

Spectator admission is free.

The Full Distance Triathlon includes:

• a 2.4 mile swim in Lake Mead
• a 112 mile bide ride through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area (gaining 1,500 feet of elevation during the ride)
• a 26.2 mile run through the City of Henderson

The Half Distance Triathlon includes:

• a 1.2 mile swim in Lake Mead
• a 56 mile bike ride through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area
• a 13.1 mile run through the City of Henderson

Boys Like Girls Rock Band

Boston-based rock band, Boys Like Girls, will be preforming their new single “Love Drunk”, along with many of their other popular songs, at the Henderson Pavilion on Sunday, October 25, 2009.

Boys Like Girls will also be performing such hits as “The Great Escape,” “Thunder,” “Heels Over Head” and “Hero/Heroin.”
